For our team in Prague we are currently looking for:
Data Analyst – Machine Learning
This is the role for data analysts or machine learning professionals wanting to get experience with truly big data. The main responsibility is to research selected business problem and to discover relationships and models that improve given business metric like user-acquisition, user-retention, bookings, etc. Position requires the analyst to choose the right set of tools, features, models, and evaluation strategies on a cluster and/or on a local workstation for efficient research and model tuning.
You will become a part of a team focusing on prediction models that help Avast grow even faster.

What you will do:
Extracting features from Avast data relevant to modeling task
Data analysis on what is behind or what is driving some business phenomenon
Using ML models to improve target business measure
Participation in building and maintaining data pipelines
Analysis and modeling in Python
Work with other team members (e.g. research and code reviews)
Creating tools for model A/B testing and evaluation
Other small tasks execution based on instructions
What we need:
At least 2 years experience in data analysis and/or ML modeling
Good knowledge of any data analysis stack like Python or R
Experience with Java or Scala programming is a plus
Ability to do common configuration and tuning of Linux servers
Active knowledge of English
Ability to work in a team
Min of secondary education, University degree in a technical area is an advantage
